I was invited to lecture at Waseda University, where I shared an in-depth look at my entrepreneurial journey and the philosophy that has shaped it. In this lecture, I spoke about my humble beginnings in France, where I launched my first small business with limited resources but a deep sense of curiosity, discipline, and determination.
I then walked the students through how that early experience evolved into my entry into the technology sector, ultimately leading to the creation and growth of Node Guardians, my software company. I reflected on the technical and operational realities of scaling a tech venture—building reliable, high-quality products, structuring teams, and navigating the complexities of growth.
During the session, I detailed the lessons I learned along the way: embracing uncertainty, setting strong processes early, and developing the founder’s mindset required to balance ambitious moves with disciplined execution. I also spoke about how I raised more than $5 million from leading investors, including Temasek, and how that funding accelerated both product development and organizational expansion.
I shared the philosophy that guided me through challenges: hiring thoughtfully, building trust by upholding high standards, and managing risk not by avoiding it, but by structuring it intelligently. I emphasized resilience, clear communication, and continuous learning—principles that have consistently helped me navigate the realities of building and leading companies.
My goal in this lecture was to offer students both a candid look at the truth behind entrepreneurship and a set of practical frameworks they can use as they begin shaping their own ventures.
